An Evening with Reverend Stephen D. Thorne, Ed.D.

We are pleased to invite you to a meaningful evening with Reverend Stephen D. Thorne, Ed.D., on Wednesday, November 20 at 6:30pm in the Fontbonne Commons (8900 Norwood Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19118).

Father Thorne, co-chair of the Archbishop of Philadelphia's Commission on Racial Healing, will present a thought-provoking talk titled, "Do You See What I See? How Do We Encounter Each Other?" This event is open to all members of the NFA community, offering a unique opportunity to come together, learn, and engage in dialogue that supports our commitment to the mission of the Sisters of Saint Joseph: “to live and work so that all people may be united with God and one another.”

A core pillar of NFA’s Strategic Plan emphasizes belonging and inclusion. In alignment with the Sisters of Saint Joseph’s mission, we are dedicated to fostering a culture where every individual feels a deep sense of belonging and purpose, rooted in love that unites and positively impacts the world. We believe Father Thorne’s message will enrich our collective understanding and help us further this mission.

We hope you will join us for this important evening and look forward to seeing you there

Archbishop's Commission for Racial Healing

Founded in 2021 by Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez, the Archbishop’s Commission Racial Healing (ACRH) is an advisory body of laity, consecrated religious, and clergy that addresses the sin of racism in the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Catholic Social Teaching. We are Missionary Disciples and serve as a resource for parishes, schools, and other Archdiocesan ministries in this important work of the Church.
