Bus transportation is currently provided to students who reside in the school districts listed below. Busing begins for Philadelphia residents at age 6. Busing for suburban school district residents begins at age 5.
After a student enrolls, NFA notifies the appropriate school district if the family requests busing. The individual district contacts the family regarding time and place of bus pick up and drop off.
Norwood-Fontbonne Academy uses a carline process to ensure that our children are safely transported to and from the Academy. Parents transporting children to school by car follow the carline process at both the Norwood and Fontbonne campuses. Cars access the campus driveways and drive to the front of the building. Children in the Pre-primary program, Kindergarten and Montessori preschools are escorted from their cars by a staff member. Children in grades one through eight are dropped off at the curb.
SEPTA Bus #23 stops on Germantown Avenue just at Norwood-Fontbonne Academy's Norwood Campus at 8891 Germantown Avenue. Riders may also choose to take the Suburban Rail Lines Chestnut Hill West (formerly R8) and Chestnut Hill East (formerly R7). Both of these end their lines in Chestnut Hill within walking distance of Norwood-Fontbonne Academy.
The Norwood-Fontbonne Academy student population is diverse and draws students from the city and suburbs. Students take school district buses, are driven by car, use SEPTA, walk, or bike to NFA.
