Curriculum Night 2025

Please join us for Norwood-Fontbonne Academy's Curriculum Night, which will take place on Wednesday, November 12 at 6:30pm in the Fontbonne Building. This event gives parents the opportunity to connect with NFA teachers to learn more about the curriculum and instructional approaches taking place in NFA classrooms. See Curriculum Night topics listed below!
FORMAT:
Curriculum Night will go from 6:30 - 8pm and be held in The Commons on the Fontbonne Campus (8900 Norwood Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19118).
The evening will also feature two workshops led by the Positive Coaching Alliance: the first at 6:30pm and the second at 7:15pm. Details regarding the PCA session are at the bottom of this page. Parents will have plenty of time to attend one of the PCA sessions and also visit each teacher-led station in The Commons. Please visit each table before or after attending a PCA session. Be on campus by 6:30pm to make the most of the evening!
We hope to see you on November 12! Please invite a friend!
Our Approach
The Norwood-Fontbonne Academy Vision Statement notes the following:
An NFA Student is one who…
- Enjoys learning,
- Treasures self, others, and the Earth,
- Lives Gospel values, and
- Makes reflective choices as a self-directed person.
With that in mind, the NFA Curriculum Council decided to use the Vision Statement as our guide when examining curriculum here at NFA. Sessions are grouped by a tenet of the vision statement. Please see just a few of the sessions below. More to come!

THE POWER OF POSITIVE SPORTS PARENTING!

We're excited to welcome Mr. Thomas Evans of the Positive Coaching Alliance back to campus to facilitate two parent workshops in conjunction with Curriculum Night.
We are asking that one parent for each student-athlete is present for the workshop.

The workshop, entitled “The Power of Positive Sports Parenting” offers practical strategies to help parents/caregivers contribute to a positive and welcoming sports experience for everyone involved. Parents/Caregivers who attend this workshop will be given tools to:
- Align their goals with those of their athletes
- Support their athlete’s mental wellness through empathy
- Model and reinforce a positive sports culture
- Build an effective coach-parent partnership
- Foster a sense of belonging amongst the team community
