NFA Graduates Shine at La Salle College High School

Three members of the Norwood-Fontbonne Academy Class of 2024, and current sophomores at La Salle College High School, were recently honored by La Salle. Rhys Barr '24, Jay Churchill '24, and Ethan Nienhuis '24 earned both a Scholastic “L” Award (First Honors) and an Outstanding Academic Achievement Award with a final GPA of 4.0 or higher for the 2024-2025 academic year. Congratulations, Rhys, Jay, and Ethan! Go Bears!

Matthew Stitt '01 Named to Philadelphia magazine's "150 Most Influential People in Philadelphia" list

Congratulations to Norwood-Fontbonne Academy alum Matthew Stitt '01 on being named to Philadelphia magazine's "150 Most Influential People in Philadelphia" list! Stitt is currently the Managing Director of PFM and is a Senior Distinguished Fellow at the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania. He served in various roles for the city of Philadelphia, including Chief Financial Officer.

Maddie Burns '20 Represents Norwood-Fontbonne Academy on U.S. Women’s National Team at IWLCA President’s Cup

Norwood-Fontbonne Academy alumna Maddie Burns '16, a former University of Michigan defender, will compete with the U.S. Women’s National Team at this month’s Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) President’s Cup in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. The event features more than 500 teams and an expected 10,000 athletes.

Halloween Details

On Wednesday, October 29, students in Grades 1-3 will join in a Halloween Parade at 1pm on the Fontbonne Campus. Parents of students in these grades are invited to watch, while students in Grades 4-8 and the houses will cheer on the parade and hand out treats.

Maddie Burns ’20 Wins Gold With Team USA at Pan-American Women’s Lacrosse Championship

On June 30, Norwood-Fontbonne Academy alumna Maddie Burns '16 and the U.S. women’s lacrosse team defeated Canada, 21-11, to win the inaugural Pan-American Women’s Lacrosse Championship in Auburndale, Florida. The victory capped off a dominant tournament in which the team dispatched Puerto Rico, Peru, Mexico and Haudenosaunee and earned a spot in next summer’s World Lacrosse Women’s Championship in Tokyo.

Chestnut Hill College, The Mount, and NFA Students Come Together for MLK Day of Service

Students and staff from three sponsored works of the Sisters of Saint Joseph – Chestnut Hill College, Mount Saint Joseph Academy, and Norwood-Fontbonne Academy – will come together on Friday, January 12 and participate in a prayer service, service projects, and related activities in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Norwood-Fontbonne Academy Awarded  $400,000 LSA Grant

Norwood-Fontbonne Academy, a coed Catholic independent academy for preschool to eighth grade students located in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, has been sponsored by PIDC, Philadelphia’s public-private economic development corporation, and has been awarded a Local Share Account Grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the amount of $400,000 to support enhancements and improvements to the NFA campus.
