It's that time of year again at Norwood-Fontbonne Academy... Thanksgiving Outreach! All of the details are below.
DONATIONS:
Our donations will once again go to the Visitation B.V.M. Community in Kensington. They will be due on Thursday, November 16 so that for our first CSC (4-8 Grades), our students will be able to collect and organize the donations and decorate the boxes. Homerooms are still encouraged to create a card and prayer/reflection for the family that will receive their bin.
TIMELINE:
- Please bring in all food items by Thursday November 16
-
All boxes will be sorted and packed at CSC on Thursday, November 16
-
Outreach will be delivered by our 6th Grade on Tuesday, November 21
HOMEROOM NOTES:
Each homeroom should collect their respective Thanksgiving items outlined in the table below. As a reminder, each total meal will serve 6 people and thus a contribution should be able to serve at least that many. Each student should bring in one item unless otherwise noted (ie 2 boxes of Jello).
In addition to our items, we will also be collecting $2 per student to use to purchase turkeys. Class parents will be assisting with this collection. Additional monetary donations are welcome and can also be sent to Class Parents to help with the purchase of other items needed.
Any additional perishable foods families wish to donate must be delivered to school the day of our Thanksgiving Mass (Tuesday, November 21) and will be packed into boxes or bins before departure (pies, rolls, bakery cookies, fresh fruit, etc.).
If you have a free turkey through your preferred supermarket that you aren't planning on using, please let me know and we will gladly use the donation.
For any questions, please contact Mr. Patrick McKenzie, Director of Mission & Ministry, at pmckenzie@norfon.org.
