8th Grade Recycling Challenge

RECYCLING CHALLENGE - WE NEED YOUR PLASTIC BAGS!

Exciting news is brewing at NFA where our motivated 8th grade students are taking the lead in launching the Trex Company Recycling Challenge! Their mission is clear: to spread awareness about the crucial importance of plastic film recycling!

Our students aim to collect an impressive 1,000 pounds (or more!) of plastic, and we need your support to make it happen. The stakes are high, as meeting our goal will earn the group a fabulous earth-friendly reward—a Trex bench crafted from recycled plastic bags and film.

Here's how you can contribute to this eco-friendly initiative:

  • Grocery bags
  • Bread bags
  • Case overwrap
  • Dry cleaning bags
  • Newspaper sleeves
  • Ice bags
  • Wood pellet bags (clean of all debris)
  • Ziplock and other reclosable bags
  • Produce bags
  • Bubble wrap
  • Amazon plastic mailers
  • Salt bags
  • Cereal bags
  • Items Being Collected (Clean, Dry, and Residue-Free, Please)

Collection Period: We are accepting donations until May 2024. Every contribution brings us one step closer to achieving our ambitious goal.

Let's rally together and support our 8th grade students in this fantastic endeavor. Your participation makes a difference in building a more sustainable future for us all.

White collection boxes can be found in the vestibule areas of SJAH, The Fontbonne Building, and The Loft.
