6th Grade Creates Mosaic Art
On Thursday, April 28, the Class of 2024 (6th grade) completed a beautiful mosaic using a kit from Stick Together.
"They began the mosaic back in September," explained Kelly Guller, who teaches Middle School Social Studies and also serves as a 6th and 7th grade support specialist. "Each student added a sticker upon entering the social studies classroom from September to today. The activity was fun, collaborative, and included every student in sixth grade."
In the fall, NFA sixth grade students studied ancient Egypt and were surprised to see the image of King Tutankhamun appearing as they worked on the mosaic. The students are now studying Ancient Rome and this unit will include a lesson on Roman mosaics as an ancient art form.
