Middle School Math Teacher (Long-Term Substitute)

Norwood-Fontbonne Academy is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Middle School Teacher to serve as a short-term leave replacement for approximately six weeks from January through February. This role supports our Middle School mathematics program (6th and 7th grades) and is an excellent opportunity for an educator who is passionate about helping students grow in confidence, skill, and conceptual understanding of mathematics within a supportive, mission-driven school community. The Middle School Math Teacher will create an engaging and structured learning environment for students, collaborate with colleagues to ensure instructional continuity, and communicate effectively with families and school leadership throughout the assignment.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and deliver daily mathematics instruction aligned with grade-level standards and curriculum

  • Support students in developing proficiency in the Standards for Mathematical Practice

  • Assess student learning and provide timely feedback and progress updates

  • Collaborate with division colleagues and support staff to meet student needs

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents, administrators, and colleagues

  • Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and well-managed classroom environment

  • Uphold school policies, expectations, and routines

  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the temporary assignment


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field

  • Valid teaching certification 

  • Prior experience teaching middle school mathematics preferred

  • Strong classroom management skills and ability to implement established curriculum quickly

  • Ability to collaborate and step into an existing program with flexibility and professionalism
