About

Welcome to Norwood-Fontbonne Academy, a leading independent co-educational Catholic school educating students from age 3 - 8th grade in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Founded by the Sisters of Saint Joseph in 1920, NFA boasts more than 100 years of history and tradition. NFA students enjoy the full benefits of the school's historic 14 acres, which include two campuses, seven buildings, outdoor learning spaces, gardens, athletic facilities, and playgrounds.

Leaders in Montessori education, NFA offers both a Montessori academic path as well as a Primary academic path to its youngest students (age 3 - 3rd grade). The two academic paths merge in 4th grade. A few short years later, students on the Fontbonne Campus "graduate" to the Norwood Campus where they, as Middle School students, enjoy their independence as they move between buildings for classes. NFA graduates go on to find success at elite private schools in the Philadelphia area.
