Admissions Procedure

After receiving an inquiry regarding admission to Norwood-Fontbonne Acdemy, the Office of Admission mails an application and admission folder to the inquiring family who completes the application form and returns it to Norwood-Fontbonne Academy along with a $75 application fee. Arrangements can also be made for a visit to the school prior to making application. Applicants to Preschool Montessori and Kindergarten visit with a certified teacher who assesses the child's readiness. If the child currently attends preschool, a Confidential Common Recommendation form should be completed by the child's teacher and sent directly to Norwood-Fontbonne Academy.

If a child is applying to Grade One through Eight, the parent/guardian submits a Release of School Records form to the child's present school. A Confidential Student Evaluation form should be completed by the child's current teacher and sent directly to Norwood-Fontbonne Academy.

After all necessary records have been received, the admission director will schedule a school visit for the child. Applicants to Grade One spend one day with the Kindergarten class. Applicants to Grade Two through Eight attend classes during a two-day academic visit.

If a child is accepted to Norwood-Fontbonne Academy, the parent/guardian receives a letter of acceptance and is asked to remit a $1,000 non-refundable deposit of enrollment that is applied to the student's tuition.

Norwood-Fontbonne Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at our school. Similar policies apply to the school staff.
